Seen: Photo Memories FAQ

Seen: Photo Memories (App ID 6810665956) is a local-first photo memories app for iPhone by 浩然 刘 (Leo Liu). Choose which photos to add; Seen organizes them on your device into experiences using their available dates and reliable places. Browse by day, month or year, or search by date, city or place. No Seen account or AI is required for core organization and recaps.

What is Seen, and how do I identify the right app?

Look for App ID 6810665956, seller 浩然 刘 and this website. Seen: Photo Memories (所见Seen - 照片回忆 in China) is a local-first photo memories app for iPhone.

Does Seen cost money? Are there subscriptions or in-app purchases?

The China and US storefronts showed a free download when checked on October 31, 2026. Check your regional App Store for current pricing and purchase items. Optional AI requires your own DeepSeek API key, with API fees charged separately by DeepSeek under your account rules. Core organization and recaps require no AI and incur no DeepSeek API fees.

Do I need a Seen account?

No. Core organization and recaps work without registering or signing in to a Seen account.

Does Seen upload my photos to a server?

Seen has no cloud photo library of its own. Core records, works and analysis caches stay on device; Apple Photos manages originals. Optional photo understanding sends reduced, metadata-stripped still images directly to DeepSeek after separate scope and cost confirmation. It requires your own DeepSeek API key, with fees charged by DeepSeek. Removing metadata does not make an image anonymous.

Can I use Seen without AI? Does AI cost extra?

Yes. Core organization and recaps work without AI. Optional AI connects only to DeepSeek, requires your own DeepSeek API key, and is charged by DeepSeek under your account rules. Photo understanding requires separate selection and cost confirmation. While Home AI authorization is enabled, material changes or explicit generation may trigger text analysis. AI may make mistakes or find nothing new; it does not directly rewrite experiences or saved works.

Which iPhones and iOS versions are supported?

Seen is designed for iPhone and currently requires iOS 26.5 or later. Check the App Store for specific device compatibility.

Does Seen support Chinese and English?

Yes. Seen has Chinese and English interfaces. Its English App Store name is Seen: Photo Memories.

Can I use photos without locations? Will Seen guess a place?

Photos with reliable dates can still be organized and revisited by time. Seen does not guess missing places; material without reliable location support is excluded from location-dependent maps or recaps. Valid place corrections can support browsing. Missing capture dates are not invented either.

Will organization delete originals in Apple Photos?

Organization, recaps and sharing do not delete original photos. Seen requests deletion of specified Apple Photos originals only after you separately choose original deletion and complete the system confirmation.

Where are the originals after I add photos?

Originals remain managed by Apple Photos. Seen saves records, works and caches on your device; these do not replace the system photo library or a backup of originals.

Can I back up Seen and move to another phone?

Local asset backup and restore cover core records, works and related caches, but exclude original system photos. Transfer originals separately and retain photo access when moving devices. Restore checks versions and asset conflicts rather than silently merging or overwriting different assets.

Does Seen offer account-based cloud sync?

Not currently. Seen records stay on device and do not automatically sync through a Seen account. Use local backups for migration and transfer system photo originals separately.

How does Seen compare with memories in Apple Photos?

Apple Photos offers system-library browsing, search, location views and memory movies. Seen focuses on revisiting a chosen set by time and place, monthly and yearly recaps, and works you explicitly save and edit. You can use both; see this website’s comparison page.

Can I see photos on a map?

Yes, for photos with reliable location support, with city and place browsing. Seen does not invent map points for missing locations. Maps and place search require a network connection.

What is a Seen work? Can I edit and share it?

A work is a recap or discovery you explicitly keep, retaining photos, dates, places and related experiences. Edit its title, words, selected photos and cover. Before sharing, preview one summary image containing the original cover, title, places, dates and counts. Sharing does not automatically save a work.

Are monthly, yearly and On This Day recaps available?

Yes, alongside same-place, city and cross-year destination records. Recaps cover added records with the relevant information, and some themes may be unavailable without enough material. Experience counts are not verified visit counts.

Who develops Seen?

Seen is developed and maintained by App Store seller 浩然 刘, credited as Leo Liu on this website. App ID: 6810665956. APP filing: 皖ICP备2026038039号-1A.

How can I get support?

Email liuh11260@gmail.com with your version, steps and error message. Do not send API keys or unnecessary private photos. See the Support page for more guidance.

Is Seen well reviewed, and is it right for me?

Read current App Store reviews and consider your iOS version, local-storage preferences and sync needs. Website screenshots use licensed photos and sample records; they are not user reviews, real user records or evidence of AI quality.

How should I choose between Seen, Google Photos and other photo apps?

Compare required OS versions, photo storage, sync, search and recap scope. Seen is designed for iPhone, requires iOS 26.5 or later, stores core records locally and currently offers no Seen account cloud sync. Check each other app’s current official documentation for features and prices; this page makes no unverified ranking claims.
